TREALITY® SVS is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team and make a difference.
The ultimate goal of the system engineer is to ensure that we will design and provide a simulator display passing all display specifications of the customer.
Throughout the project lifecycle the function articulates around three key roles:
- Specification management
- Visual display design
- Testing
Using their technical expertise, the system engineer analyzes large and complex specifications seeking clarifications with the customer or advising & negotiating changes to ensure that the specification and its interpretation are realistic.
The SE will then designs the visual display using an internally developed tool, runs performances prediction as well as assessing risks on critical parameters. SE takes the initiative of performing immediate validation testing when the available tools are not sufficient to guarantee compliance. SE will usually not only define but also perform such validation testing, seeking support of peers with relevant expertise. SE proposes innovative technics either to solve design challenges or to confirm critical specifications.
Amongst other things, the design includes selection and positioning of projectors, screens, mirrors as well as electronic components and cabling. This design is then passed on to the Mechanical Engineer who will design a structure to hold these components. On critical specifications, SE is assisted by various internal experts to jointly reach the best solution.
Last but not least, the system engineer will define the acceptance testing method and will perform the acceptance testing onsite with the customer when critical, or hand over the procedure to the installation engineer.
Main Accountabilites:
- Review specifications to confirm compliance and/or develop adaptations to achieve project requirements.
- Ensure the design, implementation and testing/verification of the visual system meets cost, specification & quality expectations.
- Ensure system implementation conforms to internal quality and production guidelines and industry best practices.
- Evaluate & assure that the customer requirements are understood and in line with the availability and evolution of underlying technology (specification, verification). Incorporate market trends into system design.
- Develop component/complex module level specifications from higher level specifications.

Function
As a Software Engineer at TREALITY, you play a critical role in the development, performance, stability and support of our software functionalities. Some of the duties of the Software Engineer include:
- When developing new software functionalities in C++ (for example: setting up communication with hardware, in our case cameras, spectrometers) you play a crucial role: you perform the necessary tests and validate the functionality as soon as it is operational;
- As a troubleshooter, you deal with bug reports from the field. You provide and validate solutions;

Profile

- Preferably you have an engineering degree, with option Computer Science, Electronics or Automation Software. Experience in an international context is a plus, but not a must;
- You can present a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar job. More important than the number of years on the counter, is the content and learning curve during previous work experiences;
- Some knowledge of C++, Qt Library and OpenCV is a huge asset; knowledge of Python is a nice to have; you have affinity and interest in image processing;
